2020 NC Motorsports Industry Awards Ceremony

The North Carolina Motorsports Association will honor the life and career of renowned engine builder and NASCAR Cup championship car owner Robert Yates at its 14th annual North Carolina Motorsports Industry Awards Ceremony presented by Fifth Third Bank on Jan. 28, 2020. Yates will be posthumously awarded the Achievement in Motorsports Tribute Award. The Yates family will accept the award on behalf of Robert for his impact on racing and his native state.

Performance Racing Network’s Doug Rice will be honored with the Jim Hunter Memorial Media Award.

In addition, the event will also honor companies and other entities that have had a positive impact on motorsports.


Welcome to the North Carolina Motorsports Association! Founded in 2002 to promote and serve the motorsports community in North Carolina, the association has members that range from race teams and tracks to attorneys and accountants. Its mission includes legislative representation at the state level to ensure that the industry’s best interests are served in Raleigh. It also includes opportunities for members to interact as well as attend seminars that benefit the self-employed as well as large corporations.
