CONCORD, N.C. (February 28, 2023) – The North Carolina Motorsports Association (NCMA) announced that Scott Lampe, CFO of 14-time NASCAR Cup Series champions Hendrick Motorsports, has been elected vice chairman of the NCMA Board of Directors. Lampe assumes the post previously held by Greg Walter, Vice President and General Manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway.

As NCMA vice chairman, Lampe will work in tandem with the Board of Directors to move the Association forward to achieve the NCMA core mission, which is to reach out to businesses large and small to become members and foster collaborative efforts to keep the business of motorsports strong across the state. In addition, he will assist on issues before legislative and regulatory agencies, on both state and local levels, to address matters that impact the racing industry of North Carolina.

Lampe is a graduate of Appalachian State University and began his career in 1995 with accounting firm Dixon Hughes PLLC in Raleigh, North Carolina. From there he joined Hendrick Motorsports in 1999 as controller and served as CFO from 2005 through 2019.

After working in private equity, Lampe returned to Hendrick Motorsports in 2022 as CFO where he oversees accounting, human resources, information technology, facilities, operational excellence and aviation.

Lampe’s past service and honors include Chair of the Appalachian State University Board of Trustees; Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors; Business Advisory Council for the Appalachian State University School of Business; University of North Carolina Board of Governors; member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; recognized as a top CFO by Business Leader magazine; 2010 Charlotte Business Journal CFO of the Year (large private company category); and the North Carolina Motorsports Advisory Council.
